UK Vegan Camp Out

July 9, 2017

This morning I was googling "how to fold pop up tent" as I was half asleep and packing things away to leave the UK Vegan Camp Out. Now home (still with grass between my toes) I thought I would let you all in on how it went and give you the heads up that next year is going to be even bigger and better! I'm genuinely already so excited about this and am adding a few things to my list of things to take like:

- better tent folding sister (I will place an ad closer to the time)

- Vegan sun screen!

So me and my sister Louise rocked up slightly later in the day with practically a truck load of belongings, we were immediately greeted by one of the Vegan Camp Out clang who offered to look after our things whilst we parked up. He saved us from lugging our luggage along the road and it really dawned on me just how trusting and kind the vegan community is.

Tent popped up and shoes kicked off within minutes, we were ready to go - go get food, listen to talks, buy some merch, make new friends more food.

The venue was completely veganised and everywhere you looked there were happy vegan campers enjoying something that the event had to offer. The main marquee saw some big vegan names such as the Vegan Bros, and the Vegan Geezer, but all talks and entertainers were brilliant and gave you that Vegan excitement we all get when re-boosted and inspired by being together on the same mission for movement.

The food was amazing. I possibly ate a little more than what was necessary, and what I didn't get to put in my gut, I asked around and got feel good food feedback! My personal fave was the Vegan Pizza Co who somehow kept up with the queues and cut those slices quick!

Saturday Night ended on a complete high as the Marquee that was earlier filled with inspiration, laughter and empowering encouragement, switched up into a field festival for everyone to dance and work off those over eats from the day (maybe that was just me though).

Waking up this morning to the smell of Veggie sausages, the sun in my eyes and many new friends made was a perfect way to end the camp out and I will absolutely be buying those tickets for UK Vegan Camp Out 2018! See you there happy campers!
